The Heritage Center

The Heritage Center

The Heritage Center, an archive and museum complex, dedicated to communicating the area’s rich history will be an added attraction for the 35,000-plus visitors who patronize the Candy Kitchen each year. The Heritage Center will include over 4200 square feet of exhibit space, archive storage and more.

Guests, when they enter, will be greeted by Renfro’s Cafe, a gift shop and a relaxing gathering area for small groups. This indoor area will look out towards the Heritage Garden with an expansive view of the Candy Kitchen’s mural entitled, “The Candy Kitchen Salutes Duty – Honor Sacrifice” painted by well-known Freedom Rock Artist, Ray ‘Bubba’ Sorensen in 2022. The Heritage Center will complement the Candy Kitchen and help to nurture an appreciation of history for its guests. The Heritage Center will also make available a building dedicated exclusively to housing (archiving) and displaying historical photos, documents, and artifacts related to our community.
