Welcome to the official website of the Candy Kitchen, located in Wilton, Iowa! Listed in the National Register of Historic Places and founded by R.A. McIntyre in 1860, the Candy Kitchen is the oldest ongoing ice cream parlor and soda fountain in the USA. We have been serving visitors candy, sandwiches, and homemade ice cream for over 150 years! Our establishment was under the ownership of the Nopoulous family from 1910 until 2016. This business is now part of the Ochiltree family, and we hope to continue bringing smiles to customers for years to come! The Candy Kitchen is currently in a state of transition, so please visit our Facebook page for more information on when we are open for visitors. Final operating hours will be published in the future.

In the meantime, feel free to explore the website and learn the history of our wonderful small town business. Scan the menu, browse through photos, and remember: if you're ever driving through Iowa on Interstate 80, be sure to pull off exit 271, drive four miles south to Wilton, and stop by for a good old-fashioned soda fountain drink or some of George's Homemade Ice Cream.
